This summer, children’s charity Brainwave will be bringing the glitz and the glam back to The Mere for its annual Strictly Summer Event!  The evening will see a wonderful team of local business men and women team up with professional dancers’s to perform Latin – American inspired dances in order to win the coveted Brainwave Glitterball, while raising lots of money!  Last year, our General Manager, Gary, and Events Supervisor, Kimberley, took part in the event which was fantastic. The Mere was offered the opportunity for a team member to get involved again and this year, it was placed upon the lovely Michelle Tootell our Assistant Spa Lounge Manager.

Last year, The Mere hosted Brainwave’s Strictly Summer event which saw two of The Mere team whip out their dancing shoes. When I found out the event was returning and looking for participants, I jumped at the chance of being involved. The event will see 10 business men and women (including myself) teaming up with professional dancers from Cadman’s Dance Centre as part of a charity fundraiser the wonderful Children’s charity, Brainwave. The next few weeks will see me embark on an exciting challenge – to learn and perform the Samba with my dance partner in just under three months. It’s an incredible opportunity to be involved with as Brainwave is such an amazing charity that provides exceptional support for local families to help children with disabilities. I’m ready to give it my all, so please dig deep and let’s raise as much money as possible!

The Strictly Summer event will be taking place on Saturday 29th June from 7pm and will include a reception drinks, a three course dinner, entertainment from our dancers, DJ and celebrity judging panel. You can purchase your tickets here.
