MEET GROUP GOLF CO-ORDINATOR, MICHAEL
Corporate & Society Golf Manager, Michael is a golf professional with a passion for golf spanning over twenty-one years. Having played internationally as a tour professional, joined The Mere in 2015 and today leads business development for our society and corporate golf days.
A real people person with a passion for golf, Michael is commercially-focussed and customer centric. He doesn’t just plan and manage golf days. He brings a wealth of golf knowledge to create bespoke, exceptionally planned and professionally executed group golf experiences. It’s clear he knows his stuff, thanks to the glowing feedback from a number of corporate and society golf customers…

Michael’s first ever round of golf was played here at The Mere on his sixth birthday. Twenty-one years later, he continues to play on our Championship course, so there’s no-one more passionate about The Mere as the course of choice in Cheshire. His favourite hole is the second.
“First thing in the morning, with the incredible view, there aren’t many nicer places to be.”
The most challenging hole being the sixteenth, which Michael says demands two very good shots.
A golf Pro since 2012, Michael played the MENA Tour in Dubai, welcoming amateur and professional players from around the world. He worked as a caddie master at the San Roque Club in Cadiz, Spain for three years. He then moved to South Africa to play competitively and provide golf tuition to members and corporate guests at the Royal Johannesburg Golf Club. The prestigious course has played host to the JoBurg Open for the past ten years.
His focus for the year ahead will be to develop The Mere resort’s customer experience, with a five star service from start to finish;

Michael will be developing our golf days to ensure that we remain unrivalled in our world class service and premium golf day offerings.

When he’s not planning bespoke golf events, Michael likes to play golf with members at least once a week, and get his regular regimes done in the gym.
