Janice joined The Mere when it was known as Mere Golf and Country Club, as a receptionist back in 1998, working 15 hours per week.

Having been married at The Mere in 1991, Jan was excited to join the luxury resort and get to grips with the world of hospitality.

After a year learning the ropes front of house, she moved into the Events team as an administrator, assisting in the planning of hundreds of weddings, parties and corporate events, before progressing into the role of Events Co-ordinator and several years later, Events Manager.

As the golf club grew, Janice contributed to the growth of the team around her, implementing new procedures and developing a wider team to cater to the growing demand for events at the four star estate. In 2012, Mere Golf and Country Club became The Mere Golf Resort & Spa, with the addition of a luxury spa and 81 bedroomed hotel. Jan became a key contributor to the smooth running of the build, ensuring that attention to detail was always a high priority when considering the comfort of guests that would eventually stay here.

In her 18 year career at The Mere, Jan has been responsible for some of Cheshire’s most high profile events, including the planning and co-ordination of the Boodles Classique, the Maserati launch and dozens of spectacular celebrity weddings.
